At Keystone Realty, we strive to be the best Rocky Mount, NC Property Management company we can be. We have spent thousands of hours tweaking our methodology and practices in order to provide the best level of service we can provide to all of our clients. In order to provide the level of service we strive to achieve, we have some specific requirements for the properties we manage. Here are a few things that we require:

Smoke Detectors. Safety is one of our highest priorities here at Keystone Realty. When a new property is onboarded with us, we will install new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with sealed 10-year batteries, as required by fire code. Detectors are tested during vacancy periods and changed as needed.
Keys. We require our owners to have Kwikset Smart Key locks on all exterior doors. This allows us to ensure that all locks can be keyed the same. It also allows us to quickly and easily re-key the locks in between tenants for you.
Cleaning. No one wants to rent a home that is not clean. It is a proven fact that clean homes rent faster than homes that are dirty. Plus, a clean and fresh smelling home shows much better to potential tenants. We don't expect every property to be perfectly spotless down to the last speck of dust, but we do require our landlords to have the property in a clean, showing state before we can market the home.
Polishing. No, not literal polishing. We have found that the more 'polish' put into a rental unit, in terms of updates and upgrades, the higher success rate we have in placing a quality tenant quickly. As such, we encourage owners to continually reinvest in their properties with planned upgrade schedules at each vacancy so that the property stays up to date and appealing to the next tenant. Small items such as upgrading old/rusted HVAC registers or painted/discolored light switches and receptacles can be done relatively inexpensively in between tenants and will greatly improve the appeal of your property. Each property is different, and we are happy to provide our input on what items will provide the best bang for your buck with improvements.

After so many years in the business and encountering the same issues over and over again, we firmly believe that these policies promote a better landlord/property manager relationship. These policies allow us to excel and provide the highest quality of service possible and also help to ensure that each property is maintained and rented as quickly as possible.
